INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) A warrant has been served against an Indiana Department of Corrections inmate now accused in a January homicide.Kim Williams Jr., 37, was being held at the Plainfield Correctional Facility, serving a one-yea r sentence for gun crimes. IMPD announced the warrant Tuesday morning.On Jan. 15, 2025, 38-year-old Jeremy Patton was found shot and killed at the Overlook at the Fairgrounds apartments near East 38th Street and Fall Creek Parkway.At the time of the murder, IMPD detained a person of interest, though they were later released. Following months of investigation, police served a warrant on Williams on Monday.Online court records show Williams faces charges of murder, unlawful carrying of a handgun with a previous conviction, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer.A court date for this case has not been set.This is a developing story. ...read more read less
