A Maryland state court struck down a first-of-its-kind digital advertising tax and ordered the state to repay the tax money already collected from big tech firms. The Maryland Tax Court ruled the tax violates the federal Internet Tax Freedom Act (ITFA), as well as the U.S. Constitution.
