The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after receiving a report of a body seen in the water near Bay View Park on Saturday morning.First responders were dispatched to the area at around 9:40 a. m. after a passerby on the Oak Leaf Trail saw a body about 30 feet off the shore in the water."We were in the middle of a small rush and then around 9:45 is when we started hearing a lot of sirens," Monique Balistrieri, the store manager at Small Pie, said."We saw the sheriff, engine 8, engine 4, then the boats, and you just knew. Everyone on the patio got really quiet because you know whats going on when youre that close to the lake." A man was recovered following a water rescue and life-saving measures were taken. He was pronounced dead at 10:15 a.m.Investigators spent hours in the area as they now work to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying the man.Investigators describes the man as a white male believed to be between 55 and 65 years old. He was approximately 6 feet tall and weighed 219 pounds. He had white or gray hair and a white or gray goatee.Investigators say he had an inserted urinary catheter and a scar consistent with prior heart or cardiac surgery. He may also have had a pacemaker.When he was found, he was wearing black-and-white Nike athletic running shoes, dark blue Adidas athletic pants with white stripes, a dark green baseball hat, and a light blue "retro" Milwaukee Brewers T-shirt.Anyone with information that could help identify him is asked to call the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office at 414-278-4788.Its about time to watch on your time.
