A Riverside man pleaded not guilty to more than 10 charges accusing him of coercing underage girls into creating and sending him sexual photos and videos, according to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw. This week, 33-year-old Gilmer Briones-Guevara pleaded not guilty to multiple cha rges, including weapons and drug offenses, after being indicted last month, prosecutors said. He was arrested in April. According to prosecutors, the investigation began after the High-Tech Crimes Unit received a tip from the National Center for Missing Exploited Children concerning Briones-Guevara’s online activities. Officials said the investigation revealed that Briones-Guevara engaged in sexual conversations with approximately 50 underage girls, often sending photos and videos of himself engaging in sexual acts and requesting that they sent him similar material. Of those targeted, 10 complied and sent Briones-Guevara child sexual abuse material of themselves, prosecutors said. Briones-Guevara is charged with 10 counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child in the second degree, luring, enticing a child, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm while committing certain drug offenses, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and obscenity to a minor. Prosecutors said the weapons and drug charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at his home, during which a handgun and cocaine were seized. Briones-Guevara remains in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly. Investigators suspect additional victims may exist. Anyone who believes their child was approached online or in person by the suspect is urged to contact the Prosecutor’s Office here. ...read more read less
