LOUIN, MS.– Gregory Henderson Jr., a 46-year-old Indianapolis man who had been a federal fugitive for nearly three years, has been arrested in Mississippi, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Henderson was taken into custody in Louin, Mississippi, on August 12, just one day after the FBI announced that he had been added to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. He was the 542nd person placed on the list since its creation in 1950. Federal authorities had been searching for Henderson since a large-scale law enforcement operation in Central Indiana on August 31, 2023. Investigators say Henderson was involved in a drug-trafficking organization that distributed fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine in Indianapolis and other parts of the Midwest. He also faces allegations involving money laundering and an animal-fighting venture. The 2023 operation involved more than 300 federal, state and local law enforcement officers who executed warrants at 25 locations in Central Indiana. Authorities arrested 18 people during the operation, while Henderson remained at large. The FBI increased the reward for information leading to Henderson’s arrest to as much as $1 million when he was placed on the Ten Most Wanted list. Authorities said Henderson had ties to several Midwestern cities, including Indianapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Cincinnati, Louisville, Lexington and St. Louis. Henderson appeared in federal court in Mississippi following his arrest and remains in federal custody.
