Synopsis: The Hawaiian language was banned in schools for nearly a century. The efforts to create the movement of revival were an uphill battle of blood, sweat and many, many tears. Today we face 21st century challenges to propel the language beyond the four walls of schools and arenas of performing arts to play a living role in our society.
