Colleyville Heritage High School investigated a threat called into the school on Friday, which prompted multiple schools in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD to be placed on a “secure” protocol. According to the school district, Colleyville Heritage High School, along with Heritage Elementary, Herita ge Middle, the Early Childhood Development Center, and iUniversity Prep were impacted while the investigation was underway. The district said when “secure” is initiated, students and staff remain inside the building and conduct business as usual, but exterior doors remain locked, and visitors are not granted access to the school. A statement from CHHS Principal Derek Cain said: “I wanted to reach out to thank you and your students for your support as we responded to what thankfully was an unsubstantiated bomb threat. The person who took the call immediately reported this to the school resource officer, who notified our campus administration. We appreciate the swift response by Colleyville and Grapevine Police Departments to the campus. Law enforcement led the investigation, which included multiple officers searching the exterior and interior of the CHHS campus. While we are thankful that today’s Secure was put into place as a preventative measure only, we assure you that we take any and all reported threats seriously.
