K-pop fever has officially arrived in North Texas as BTS takes over ATT Stadium in Arlington this weekend. Fans are already lined up around Choctaw Stadium, the old Rangers ballpark, for merchandise. People lined up as early as 10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13. The line was wrapped around the stadium as of 11 a.m. Friday. Fans relied on umbrellas, folding chairs, and plenty of water to stay cool while they waited. The BTS Army, as their fans are called, is here from around the country for things like BTS-themed jerseys. The pre-order line reportedly filled within minutes. BTS had a U.S. tour planned, but it was canceled during the pandemic. They’ve only made limited appearances since then, after they took a multi-year pause after some members served in the South Korean military. There are only three U.S. stops on the ARIRANG World Tour. NBC 5 found a fan who drove nine hours from Nebraska. BTS performs Saturday and Sunday starting at 8 p.m. Parking lots open as early as 9:30 a.m. The shows are sold out through SeatGeek, the stadium’s primary ticketing partner. Resale tickets will be at a premium. For fans taking rideshare, the drop-off area is a 15-25 minute walk from the stadium. ...read more read less
