Pennsylvania prison guard accused of sharing child pornography
Aug 14, 2026
A Pennsylvania state prison guard is accused of distributing videos and images of child pornography.
David Lemmon, 45, of Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, is charged with dozens of counts of dissemination of photo/film of child sex acts/sexual abuse materials, child sexual abuse material, and cr
iminal use of a communication facility.
Resources for victims of sexual assault are available through the National Sexual Violence Resources Center and the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673.
Investigators said they first received a tip through the social media app Snapchat. The Delaware County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force then matched a username and email to David Lemmon, who worked as a prison guard at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Chester, investigators said.
Investigators said they then spoke with Lemmon while he was working at SCI Chester on June 15, 2026, and confiscated his phone. They also searched through his devices at his home, according to officials.
Police said they found more than 180 files of child sexual abuse material on Lemmon’s phone with many of the videos showing children engaged in sexual acts. Police also determined Lemmon was trading the images with other online users, including a selfie of himself, according to investigators.
Lemmon remains free after posting bail on Aug. 10, 2026. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 20, 2026. His lawyer chose not to comment on his behalf.
NBC10 also reached out to the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to learn Lemmon’s current employment status. We will include a statement once we receive one.
