In a neighborhood known for historic, multi-level homes on single lots, 6221 Annunciation St. stood out as a rare offering. The property sold Aug. 7 for $2,243,000, making it the highest-priced sale in the Greater New Orleans area during the week of Aug. 2-8. Placing second was 10 Thunderbird Drive, a Tchefuncta Club Estates home in Covington that sold Aug. 6 for $1,862,500. Rounding out the top three was 363 Walter Road, a River Ridge home that sold Aug. 7 for $1,537,000. 6221 Annunciation St. previously had a ranch-style house dating to the 1960s. The seller purchased the property in 2025 as an investment, received permission to demolish the home, and built a three-bedroom, 2½-bathroom residence with 2,905 square feet of living space. The property also includes a 372-square-foot unfinished carriage house. The new home, developed by Tina Brown, is paired with an adjacent lot that provides flexibility for the new homeowners.
