The City of Opa-locka continues to make significant investments in infrastructure and public facilities through its Capital Improvements Program (CIP), with several projects recently completed, currently under construction, and scheduled to begin in the coming months.  Recent accomplishments includ e the completion of roadway resurfacing and drainage improvements along Ali Baba Avenue, sidewalk enhancements and exterior restroom restoration at Ingram Park, Burlington Canal bank stabilization adjacent to the park, and the successful completion of the Sherbondy Village playground improvements. Additional completed work includes parking lot improvements and utility upgrades at Segal Park.  Construction is actively progressing on several key infrastructure projects. The Cairo Lane and NW 127th Street Drainage and Roadway Improvements project continues with final roadway restoration and utility adjustments following an unexpected rupture of a water main. Drainage improvements at Segal Park are also underway to enhance stormwater management and reduce localized flooding. Work also continues on Lift Stations No. 9 and No. 16, which will improve the reliability and capacity of the City’s wastewater system.  Looking ahead, the City is preparing to advance additional park improvements, roadway resurfacing initiatives, drainage upgrades, and utility infrastructure projects identified in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan. Planning efforts are also underway for bicycle and pedestrian connectivity improvements through recently awarded transportation grant funding. These investments reflect the City’s continued commitment to improving public infrastructure, enhancing quality of life for residents, and building a more resilient Opa-locka.  The Capital Improvements Division appreciates the continued patience and support of residents and businesses as these important projects move forward.
