An Allentown police officer shot and killed a loose dog after police said the dog bit three people and charged toward an officer. According to police, officers were called to the 1900 block of Turner Street around 2:09 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2026, after receiving a report of a loose dog biti ng multiple people. When officers arrived, they found the dog, which then charged toward an officer, police said. The officer then fired their duty weapon, killing the dog. Police found three bite victims who suffered moderate injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
