Tesla is recalling the headlamps on up to 20,000 vehicles. The low-beam output may exceed the allowed intensity in certain areas, according to the recall.
The brightness may make it hard for other drivers to see, increasing the risk of a crash.
The potentially affected models are 2020-’23 Mo
del Ys and 2017-’23 Model 3s made between July 2017 and December 2023. Most of the cars potentially involved are Model Ys.
Tesla filed the recall in March of 2024, after the lamps were already out of production.
All Tesla stores and service centers will be notified about this recall.
Owners will receive letters in the mail.
