One person died and another was injured in a stabbing in Richmond, police said Wednesday. Richmond police said they received a report at about 11:18 p.m. Tuesday of a stabbing in the 1700 block of Wood Place. Responding officers and medical personnel found two victims suffering from stab wound s, according to police. Both victims were transported to the hospital to be treated, but one victim did not survive. The other victim was listed in stable condition and is expected to survive. Homicide unit detectives responded to the stabbing scene and took over the investigation. Police did not immediately release any information about a suspect. Investigators believe the stabbing was an isolated incident, police said, adding that there was no active threat to the community. An investigation is underway.
