CHINA GROVE, N.C. – Operations have resumed at the Macy’s Distribution Center in China Grove after investigators say an employee called in a bomb threat. The 2.5 million square foot facility was evacuated after that call came in around midnight. It took several hours for the bomb squad to swe ep the building that’s located just off I-85 and Highway 152. Rowan County Deputy Chief of Emergency Services Allyson Summitt says, “Things become extremely time consuming because it has to be so methodical. So we started that process of them going in and doing their proper examinations and coming back out and everything has really been out of extreme caution and precautionary due to the area.” The first day of school was also cancelled at nearby Jesse C.
