Coral Gables is bringing residents and visitors “Giralda in Bloom,” the second installation of its Giralda Sky Series. It will be unveiled Aug. 14 and run through October. The new installation will transform Giralda Plaza into a colorful outdoor destination featuring hundreds of flower-inspired umbrellas suspended overhead. The installation will provide welcome shade while creating a backdrop for dining, shopping and exploring downtown Coral Gables. Created by Impact Plan, the original designers behind Portugal’s internationally recognized Umbrella Sky Project, Giralda in Bloom brings a fresh interpretation of the iconic installation to Coral Gables, bringing new energy to one of the city’s most popular public spaces, said Belkys Perez, Coral Gables’ economic development director.
