One man is in custody and police are still looking for a second suspect after they were caught using non-genuine $20 bills at an Arby’s in Feasterville, Bucks County, police said. According to the Lower Southampton Police Department, officers were called to the Arby’s at 245 E. Street Road a t around 5:27 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, for a report of someone trying to use counterfeit money. However, when officers arrived, the man had fled because he realized that Arby’s employees identified the fake money, police said. The man, identified as 25-year-old Jahmel Hayes from Brooklyn, New York, was taken into custody after getting spotted nearby a short time later, police said. An investigation found that a second man with Hayes passed fake $20 bills at the Arby’s, and that the duo had used fake money to buy food at the neighboring Taco Bell a short time earlier, police said. Investigators also said they believe the two men went to other businesses along East Street Road and may have used more counterfeit money, police said. Hayes is currently in custody awaiting a preliminary hearing for theft by deception-false impression, forgery-unauthorized act in writing and evading arrest or detention on foot, according to court documents.
