Actor Brad Pitt has fallen off the wagon after a wild admission about his sobriety journey.
The 62-year-old ditched booze in 2016 about three months after his then-wife Angelina Jolie filed for divorce.
After an eight-year battle to shut the door on their marriage, Pitt is now revealing just
how deeply the family fallout affected him and his estranged children.

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, two years into her and Pitt’s marriage. That same year, she detailed a plane incident where she accused her ex-husband of grabbing her head, choking and hitting two of their six children, as well as pouring alcoholic beverages on them.
The “F1” actor has adamantly denied the allegations; Still, most of their kids have taken further steps to estrange themselves from him.

Pitt gave up alcohol and stayed sober for seven years, later revealing in 2020 that fellow actor Bradley Cooper helped him maintain his sobriety.
But now it looks like he’s back to his old ways. The “Babylon” star told Esquire in an Aug. 10 interview that he is “off the wagon” again.
Keeping his sobriety in mind, the interviewer writes that he asked Pitt if the wine he offered earlier was for guests.
Pitt candidly responded, “No, I got — I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon.”
He followed with a “little laugh” before clarifying that he enjoys liquor “in a more restrained manner.” The actor even assured readers that he’s got his drinking under control.
Brad Pitt reveals he has started drinking alcohol again after seven years of sobriety:“I was sober for seven years. And then I got back off the wagon… In a more restrained manner. “I got overconfident a couple times, went, ‘Yep, nope, not good for me. Not in big quantities,’” Pitt shared.
In a 2017 interview with GQ, he revealed that he had drunk booze and/or smoked weed every day since college.
Recalling his decision to stop drinking, the father of six said, “I had to step away for a minute. And truthfully, I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka. I was a professional. I was good.”
The Esquire interviewer attempted to clarify with Pitt if he can now have a glass of wine today.
Sharing the truth once more, the “Benjamin Button” star added, “Yeah. Well … I can have a few. But I can’t have a lot. I have to be professional about it.”
Fans responded to Pitt’s candor with their own opinions. One person said, “These things never end well.”
But someone else who had more confidence in this new change said, “He looks great and healthy! He knows his limits now many people do the few glasses of wine with dinner thing after years of sobriety. I’ve heard that before.”
A third person reflecting on the ongoing drama with his estranged wife and children said, “Angelina Jolie and them kids got him stressing.”
Hitting back, another person said, “Father of the year fight here – yeah right. This narcissistic turd bucket is trying to get out in front of some major coming revelations – guaranteed. Four out of 6 kids don’t drop your name for no reason.”

Despite the “Mr. Mrs. Smith” stars being declared legally single in 2019, their divorce was not finalized until 2024.
The two have since been in an ongoing battle over the French winery they once co-owned, Château Miraval.
Jolie says she initially was going to sell her share to Pitt, but he presented her with an NDA that she says was meant to prevent her from speaking about the 2016 plane incident. So she sold it to a Russian billionaire instead.
Pitt sued Jolie, claiming she violated a verbal agreement that neither would sell their stake in the winery without speaking to the other person.
Jolie countersued, claiming that Pitt was “waging a vindictive war” against her, and the battle has been ongoing since.
A civil trial is scheduled for February 2027.
As for the kids — who are a blend of adopted children and the couple’s natural children — Maddox, 24, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 18, have all dropped Pitt’s last name.
Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh have already put in the request legally and have instead chosen to go by their mother’s last name.
Their 22-year-old adopted son, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, is the only one who hasn’t gotten rid of his mom or dad’s last name.
