Stroeder moves into First VP role on state board

Mobridge-Pollock School Board Member Eric Stroeder continues in his leadership role on the Associated School Boards of South Dakota (ASBSD) Board of Directors as the First Vice President for the 2026-27 school year.
ASBSD’s First Vice President serves an integral role on the Association’s Execut
ive Committee, which comprises the leadership team of the 18-member Board of Directors.
Stroeder represents the Central Region’s member districts in the 266-699 enrollment category and has served on the state association board since 2012 during which time he has been ASBSD President in 2015-16 and 2020-22. He is also a member of the National Association Board of Directors.
With more than a decade of service on his local board, including multiple as President and Vice President, Stroeder has served as the board’s representative for ASBSD’s Legislative Action Network and Delegate for Delegate Assembly multiple times. He is a Civil Engineer with the State of South Dakota.
“Eric defines servant leadership with his dedication and leadership to public education, ASBSD is blessed with his representation,” ASBSD Executive Director Heath Larson said. “We’re thankful for his continued commitment to the Association’s purpose of enhancing public education in South Dakota.”
ASBSD is a private, non-profit association representing around 850 South Dakota school board members, the 147 school districts they govern and the students they serve. The 18-member ASBSD Board of Directors is made up of local school board members elected from four geographic regions (Central, Northeast, Southeast and Western) and five enrollment size categories (265 and Under, 266-699, 700-1,399, 1,400-9,999 and 10,000 and Above).
