FRANKLIN mdash; A man was arrested hours after a shooting in Franklin left a person with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office.Deputies were sent to Highway 318 around 11 a.m. on Aug. 10 after reports of gunfire in the area. When they arrived, deputies say th ey found a male with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.Detectives identified Deondre Johnson, 38, of Jeanerette as a suspect. He was taken into custody on Monday afternoon and booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on charges of aggravated battery and illegal use of weapons.The sheriff's office said the investigation is still active and additional charges are pending.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
