One construction worker died, and two others were hurt, one of them seriously, when a vehicle hit them at a Long Island intersection early Monday, according to police. Few details on the accident near Townline and Terry roads in Nesconset were immediately available. Suffolk County police con firmed three construction workers were hit shortly before 7 a.m. Police say they were contractors on a paving project for Suffolk County. This was the scene in Nesconset. A worker at the scene says one of the two injured workers lost a leg. Chopper 4 showed more than a half-dozen emergency vehicles blocking off the intersection. The driver was taken into custody.
