Fire displaces 21 residents from La Jolla memory care facility

Twenty-one people living at a memory care facility in La Jolla were displaced after a fire broke out at around 4 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Chief Robert Allen.
The 2-alarm fire was reported in the 7600 block of Faye Avenue, where, Revere La Jolla, a memory care and senior as
sisted living facility is located.
Traffic was shut down along Faye Avenue from Kline Street to Pearl Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The fire was contained to the living room area of the first floor, according to Chief Allen.
All residents on the first floor were evacuated, while some people on the second floor sheltered in place as firefighters worked to evacuate them.
No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced.
