INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) -- Indiana State Police arrested 37-year-old Steven T. Mimms Sunday morning after he allegedly slashed a co-worker at the Indiana State Fair Saturday night.The stabbing occurred around 10:22 p.m. Saturday at
a food booth near the Coliseum on the fairgrounds. Police say the incident involved two employees working for a third-party food vendor.Medics and troopers on scene provided first aid to the 20-year-old victim, who was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. Mimms reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived.Shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday, police located Mimms hiding in an attic in the 500 block of North Beville Avenue. Members of the state police SWAT team assisted in the search. Authorities say Mimms initially resisted arrest.Mimms was taken to a hospital for evaluation and is scheduled to be transferred to the Marion County Justice Center.He faces preliminary charges of attempted murder, resisting law enforcement, and escape from home detention.
