The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory Saturday for the interior Bay Area and Central Coast through Sunday night. The NWS also issued a coastal flood advisory for Bayshore locations through Thursday. High temperatures are forecast to be in the 90s and up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit in some interior parts of the region, according to the advisory. Lows are forecast to be in the 60s to 80s. The advisory was active in parts of all Bay Area and Central Coast counties from Monterey to Sonoma, except Marin County. Links to cooling centers or plans to operate them in each county are available through the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services website. The Weather Service recommended avoiding strenuous outdoor activities, staying hydrated, and shifting outdoor labor to evening or morning hours when it will be cooler than midday. Pet owners should take precautions not to leave animals in vehicles.
