It’s never too early to plan for the holiday season and Stage West’s new 2026-2027 season includes the return of a holiday favorite you might want to add to your calendar now. All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914 is an extra production and is not included in the season ticket package. Las t year’s production was so popular that bringing it back was an easy decision for the Fort Worth theater. “The response to All Is Calm was so powerful in 2025 that bringing it back felt both natural and necessary. People didn’t just love All Is Calm; they wanted to share it with others. The words ‘Annual Tradition’ were brought up many times. Not sure we are ready to commit to that specifically, but a second year felt right. This musical/tone poem/piece leaves audiences feeling connected, grounded, and hopeful about what humanity can be,” said Dana Schultes, Stage West’s executive producer. Stage West announced its new season as it wraps up its 2025-2026 season with the regional premiere of The Cottage by Sandy Rustin, running Aug. 12-30. “We’re closing the season with a bang! The Cottage is fast, flirtatious, and laugh-out-loud funny. It’s full of big personalities, bigger secrets, and all the theatrical mischief you could hope for. We wanted to end the year with something joyful and outrageous. This one definitely delivers,” Schultes said. The Cottage, featuring Natalie Young and Parker Davis Gray, wraps up Stage West’s 2025-2026 season this month. The 2026-2027 season ticket includes six shows with the theme “Beneath the Surface.” “With Beneath the Surface, we’ve built a season that rewards curiosity. These are plays with humor, heart, provocation, and style. They entertain beautifully on the surface while inviting audiences into deeper questions underneath. This season is quintessential Stage West: smart, surprising, funny, moving, and full of substance,” Schultes said. The season includes a new show developed in Texas, I, Will: A Late Romance, a new play by Scott Carter. “I, Will: A Late Romance is witty, theatrical, accessible, and a special chance to witness the beginning of a new play’s life. It’s history-adjacent, delightfully imaginative, and full of theatrical fun. There is something thrilling about inviting audiences into a rolling world premiere and saying: you were here at the start,” Schultes said.
