A longtime teacher in Grand Prairie ISD has been arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child in Duncanville. Duncanville police said James Robinson’s arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation. It is currently unknown to the public how long the investigation had been ongoing or when assault r eports were made. No additional information regarding the investigation or the victim will be released in order to protect the privacy of those involved and to preserve the integrity of the case, Duncanville police said. Grand Prairie ISD released a statement acknowledging Robinson’s arrest: “The well-being of our students is a top priority in Grand Prairie ISD. We are committed to taking swift and immediate action to protect and support our children. On Friday, August 7, 2026, the Duncanville Police Department notified us that they had arrested James Robinson, a Duncanville resident, for Sexual Assault of a Child – Prohibited Person, a First-Degree Felony under Texas law. Robinson, a social studies teacher at Grand Prairie High School, was immediately placed on administrative leave.” Robinson was with GPISD for 8 years as a social studies teacher before his arrest.
