Superior Court filing blows the case wide open, according to Raw Story. Hearn’s attorneys want to permanently block another prosecution. They cited evidence that didn’t come from Hearn or his defense team, but from the government’s own engineer. The wildest part is that Trump’s so-called crime scene was never touched by an outside vandal at all. It was cut open by the government’s own engineer, trying to patch a rush job before Trump’s own deadline. Federal agents photographed the pool’s damage on July 13 as a National Park Service engineer walked the site with them. According to the filing, the engineer admitted he had cut loose liner or coating with a knife to stop the peeling from spreading. “The engineer told the agents that he had personally cut loose liner or coating with a knife to prevent the peeling from worsening,” the filing states. Prosecutors’ paperwork says the engineer determined cutting away peeling sections was better than letting them flap around. Hearn’s lawyers argue the damage attributed to their client existed before he ever touched the pool. Trump’s estimate of the alleged damage ballooned from 250 feet to 300 yards. Hearn’s attorneys argued prosecutors rushed the case to match the administration’s accelerated renovation timeline. Then came July 31. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro moved to drop the case, acknowledging the damage stemmed from a botched installation, not vandalism, which contradicts the narrative from the Department of the Interior and its chief, Doug Burgum. Trump didn’t take it well. He said Pirro “choked” and “folded like an umbrella.” CNN and other outlets report Trump was furious with Pirro all weekend and reportedly considered removing her. By Monday Trump had a full meltdown in the Oval Office. He kept insisting the renovation was flawless until “somebody went in and cut it, just like they did the grass.” He cited aerial photos of an anti-Trump message and claimed cameras caught box cutters. The POTUS admitted he wasn’t “100% thrilled” with the contractor’s rushed job, then pivoted right back to blaming vandals. He claimed he had photos and video evidence of “people on the side cutting it with a box knife.” Pirro reportedly arrived at the White House later that day with an evidence box, hoping to persuade Trump that she was right to drop the charges against Hearn. The New York Times reports that during that meeting in the Oval Office Pirro forcefully confronted Burgum, who reportedly is the person responsible for selling the vandalism narrative to Trump. No judge has ruled yet on whether to permanently close the case. Hearn’s team says he remains vulnerable to harassment because Trump refuses to accept the dismissal. MSN readers didn’t hold back.
