Oklahoma First (@OKFirst2026) raised questions about the timeline surrounding Mike Mazzei’s position on the proposed Inola smelter project. According to the post: On April 9, Mike Mazzei attended the Freedom Caucus debate, where he expressed opposition to the Inola smelter. This was after W allace Design, where Mazzei’s brother Dan Mazzei is a principal, was reportedly awarded the bid for structural engineering and special inspection services related to the Inola project on March 9 this year.  According to the report, on May 29, Mike Mazzei publicly changed his position on the Inola smelter, with the post noting that the announcement came within hours of President Trump’s endorsement. On August 1, Dan Mazzei was seen with Mike Mazzei during a campaign stop in Pryor, where the Inola smelter was discussed. The post questions whether these events present a potential conflict of interest and calls for greater transparency regarding the relationship between the project, Wallace Design, and Mike Mazzei’s change in position.
