The Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) confirmed the suspect is dead after a deputy-involved shooting in Lakeland on Monday morning.During a press conference, Sheriff Grady Judd gave details on the deputy-involved shooting that resulted in the suspect being shot and killed.Larry Ronaldo Rowles, 46, was an Uber driver with an outstanding warrant for violation of probation, according to Sheriff Judd. Deputies located his vehicle in the area of Wabash Avenue North and George Jenkins Boulevard.PCSO said Rowles saw deputies and backed into a spot near the building so they could not read his license plate number. Deputies did find him and blocked him in. They told him to exit the vehicle, but Rowles refused.Deputies then broke his windshield and tried to tase Rowles. Sheriff Judd said Rowles then rammed the patrol car with his vehicle before reaching into the back seat and grabbing a handgun.PCSO said Rowles shot a round at the deputies, and deputies shot back at Rowles.
