Members of a punk band from San Francisco were arrested during a pop-up show in Long Beach on Saturday. The band, called Hemorage, was playing out of an U-Haul in a parking lot when they said the police showed up and walked them away in handcuffs. The event was part of the band’s Warped Tour . Long Beach PD says unpermitted shows can cause safety concerns and traffic congestion, so its officers arrested Hemorage, along with another band. They were booked for “public disturbance” and “operating without a permit.” Hemorage is actually known for these U-Haul shows, often showing up outside big events, and playing unofficial after-parties. The band had been cited before or told to leave, but this was the first time they’d been hauled to jail. NBC Bay Area’s Janelle Wang spoke with the band’s lead singer and guitarist.
