FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) -- Opposing groups in the debate over immigration are planning to make their voices heard in central Indiana on Saturday.Save Heritage Indiana, an organization that advocates for stricter immigration policie s, announced it will hold a rally in Fishers on Saturday, though it has not revealed the exact location.In response, Fishers Resists is holding its own event, which will include a vigil for people who have been affected by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.Executive Director Daniel Poynter of Save Heritage Indiana said the goal of his organizations rally is ensuring proper enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.Former U.S. Border Patrol commander-at-large Greg Bovino has been announced as the events keynote speaker.While Poynter declined to be interviewed Friday, he previously told News: When somebody in your life is taking advantage of you, and you're not enforcing your boundaries, when you do enforce the boundaries, they're probably going to get mad at you. But I think, at a deeper level, they're going to respect youthat you are a person who has boundaries and you enforce your boundaries.Fishers Resists is holding the Hoosier Hospitality March to offer a counterpoint to the Save Heritage Indiana event. The march will start at Holland Park about 2 p.m. before moving to the Fishers Municipal Center for a vigil.Heather Long, communications director for Fishers Resists, said, I think anytime you use the word 'mass deportation,' or 'mass' anything, it indicates there's no nuance there. There's no process or thought put behind it. It's just, 'Gather up the bodies and carry on.'
