Philadelphia Police celebrate National Night Out across the city
Jul 31, 2026
Philadelphia Police began National Night Out celebrations on Friday and will continue events across the city next week.
National Night Out is an annual celebration focused on bringing police and communities across the country closer together by strengthening relationships and building trust betwe
en law enforcement and neighborhoods.
The event was founded in the Philadelphia region in 1984 by Matt Peskin. Since then, it has expanded nationwide and includes block parties, cookouts, music, games and resource fairs.
This year’s events in Philadelphia will give residents the chance to meet with police officers and commanders who serve their neighborhoods and include family-friendly activities.
