A power outage that started around 11:15am Friday (July 31, 2026) has disrupted service to customers in Fort Pierre and some of the surrounding area. As of 11:45am CT, an official from West Central Electric Cooperative said their system was back online. He said they lost delivery from the Western Ar ea Power Administration– or WAPA– substation for about 30 minutes, which affected West Central’s Bad River substation.
