According to Riverside Township police, officers were contacted by a resident who reported she had been scammed out of approximately $25,000 in cash.  The victim told investigators a pop-up message claiming her computer was infected with a virus appeared on her screen and instructed her to cal l a phone number for assistance.  When she called, the person on the line claimed to be a member of Wells Fargo’s security team and told her she was responsible for the virus, police said.  The caller allegedly told the woman she would face prosecution by the FBI unless she withdrew $25,000 in cash, placed it in a box outside her home and allowed security agents to retrieve it, according to police.  After a man collected the cash, the caller contacted the victim again and instructed her to repeat the process with an additional $30,000, police said. The woman instead contacted Riverside police.  Detectives worked with the victim to continue communicating with the suspect and arranged for the pickup, police said. When two men arrived at the victim’s home, Riverside Township police detectives confronted and arrested them.  The suspects were identified as MD N. Islam, 48, and Mohammad Z. Islam, 58.
