Brighton Bohnenkamp (Courtesy of Burwell Rodeo)LINCOLN–(KFOR July 31)–A Lincoln teen has been crowned Little Miss Burwell Rodeo, winning the title earlier in July up in Burwell. Brighton Bohnenkamp, 14,  earned the crown this year, after finishing runner-up a year ago. She told KFOR News she wi ll be representing the Burwell Rodeo at several pageants and rodeos. “We’re gonna be at the (Nebraska) State Fair this year and we are also in a series of parades,” Brighton said.  “We just try to do anything we can because we’re ambassadors for our rodeo and western culture.” Brighton is the daughter of Chris and Sarah Bohnenkamp of Lincoln.  She says needed to come back and try again after last year’s runner-up finish because Burwell has made her feel so at home.  Brighton adds Burwell is the best rodeo in Nebraska and couldn’t think of a better rodeo to represent, after feeling relieved to win the title this year. “It was even more special just to get to be able to represent the town and rodeo of Burwell for a while,” Brighton added. ...read more read less
