Tyler’s Travels: Learn the history of Biltmore ON the Biltmore
Jul 31, 2026
ASHEVILLE NC (WOLO) – The Biltmore Estate has a storied history that continues to create new memories, stories, while always holding onto the past. Spanning over four acres, the 250 room home, sitting on 8,000 acres of breathtaking land in the mountains western North Carolina hosts over one
million guests a year, who come to experience the past and explore the present.
Biltmore is much more than a home…a big home…On an average day, guests have many experiences to enjoy, including, of course, a tour of the house, but dining, hiking, horseback riding, and of course the gardens. Guests now, however, have an evening experience to enjoy as well.
If you have been to the Estate, you have probably heard the history of how the house came to be, but with Luminere, you can see it – and hear it- as George Vanderbilt turned his vision of living in the mountains to the largest privately owned home in the Country. Luminere, using the Biltmore House itself as a canvas, puts the amazing story up in lights, telling the story, all while the gardens dance with lights.
Luminere runs nightly through September, and is very worth the short ride to Asheville. You can learn more about the show and Biltmore HERE.
