(WISH) — Former Franklin Community High School baseball superstar and the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, Max Clark, is heading to the big leagues. Clark was drafted by the Detroit Tigers right after his senior year of high school at just 18 years old, and has spent his last three summers climbing the minor league ranks. This season in Triple-A with the Toledo Mud Hens, Clark is batting .276 with a .368 on-base percentage, along with 11 home runs and 42 RBI. Through July, Clark has found his stride. Clark is hitting .338 this month with five home runs and a 1.086 OPS. After his monster month at the plate, Detroit decided to bring the 21-year-old to the show. Clark is one of baseball’s most talented prospects, ranked No. 13 overall by MLB. Clark will join a Tigers team that is 51-58 on the season and is 4.5 games behind the Cleveland Guardians for the final Wild Card spot. Clark is an outfielder who primarily plays center field. The Franklin product is set to make his MLB debut this Friday, July 31, on the road against the Athletics. ...read more read less
