INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)— Gen Con is bringing tens of thousands of tabletop fans to downtown Indianapolis, and dice maker FanRoll is capitalizing on the excitement with a slate of limited-edition releases at booth 517.
“We have 30,000 gamers today descending on Indianapoli
s,” said Neil Hoffman of FanRoll. “We have made a bunch of really cool exclusive items they can only get at Gen Con.”
Among the headliners is the Flight of Genevieve, a liquid core dice set featuring Genevieve, the Gen Con mascot, suspended inside. FanRoll is also offering a matching 55-millimeter giant die, produced in black and white versions, and limited to about 500 of each.
The company is debuting Fizban’s Fortune for Dungeons Dragons players, a 35-die collection designed to make “dice collecting like baseball cards,” with each die linked to a specific dragon, including Bahamut. A rare subset includes just 100 versions featuring gold canaries and certificates of authenticity.
FanRoll is also showcasing new licensed Marvel Multiverse “Dice of Doom,” themed to Doctor Doom and capped at 616 sets, as well as a playful dice-eating dragon plush that stores D20s inside.
Describing the convention atmosphere, Hoffman called Gen Con “an awesome convention” with a “really positive vibe.”
