The Delaware Department of Correction announced Thursday it is searching for an offender who failed to return to the Sussex Community Corrections Center (SCCC) in Georgetown after leaving on an approved work pass. Officials said Eric Szulborski’s whereabouts are “unknown and unauthorized,” and a warrant for escape after conviction has been issued. He walked away from the facility on Thursday, July 30. Community Corrections Centers are Level 4 facilities where the Department of Correction manages offenders transitioning back into the community. According to officials, these centers are not secured like Level 5 prisons because offenders are permitted to leave the facility to go to work, search for jobs or attend approved treatment sessions. Szulborski’s last known address was in Wilmington, Delaware. He is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has scars on his left eyebrow, right hand and right wrist. He also has tattoos on his neck, left arm, right arm, back and left shoulder. Delaware authorities said Szulborski is housed at the community corrections center for a violation of probation tied to an underlying conviction for second-degree burglary. Anyone with information about Szulborski’s whereabouts is asked to call the Delaware Department of Correction at (800) 542-9524 or contact their local police department. ...read more read less
