Court documents obtained by Idaho News 6 have provided new details about the case against 18-year-old Alissa Huerta. Huerta is being charged with first-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Jade Ramirez and is being held wit hout bond.As Idaho News 6 reported, Alissa Huerta was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon, after police say evidence led them to believe Huerta intentionally drove over Ramirez after some sort of altercation around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday morning in a Nampa parking lot off Cleveland Boulevard.Ramirez died from her injuries at the hospital. Idaho News 6 was the only outlet inside the courtroom Wednesday afternoon as Huerta appeared virtually from the Canyon County Jail. She was appointed a public defender.A redacted probable cause affidavit states that Huerta called Nampa Police dispatch at 5:21 a.m., reporting that she had been in an altercation with the victim, 19-year-old Jade Ramirez, and that Ramirez had hit her car with a bat.The document says that Huerta initially told officers that she and her sister had been parked behind the Ross store when Ramirez came out of a nearby vehicle with a bat and began striking her car. Huerta later told detectives that they were meeting in the parking lot for a "fist fight" between her sister and Ramirez.The PCA revealed there were a total of 7 or 8 occupants in Huerta's vehicle, a black 2020 Honda Civic. Huerta later told police that all occupants were aware that they were going to a fight.Police say that a metal baseball bat and plastic piece from a car were collected from the scene as potential evidence.Based on her demeanor during the phone conversation, "Alissa did not present as being aware she had struck Jade or that Jade was deceased," the affidavit says.The PCA says that on Sunday morning, Meridian Police located Huerta's vehicle where officials "collected swabs of what appeared to be blood on one of the vehicle's headlights."Alissa Huerta told police that her conflict with Ramirez started three days before the incident, saying that Jade had called her from a friend's phone, "demanding her location and making threats."Huerta and her sister gave written consent for forensic analysis of their cellphones. The document states that numerous threatening text and voice messages were found between Huerta and Ramirez.Huerta said the conflict stemmed from her having an "intimate relationship" with the father of Jade's child, and that Ramirez had sent her messages on social media threatening to beat her up and "shoot her with a gun."Police say that analysis of the phones indicated that conflict between the two teens may have started between February and April, but "escalated significantly" on or near July 23.According to the documents, Huerta told police in an interview that her sister informed her she had struck Ramirez while they were driving away from the scene and that she "did not feel the impact", though acknowledged that she was "driving pretty fast."Detectives spoke with a friend of Huerta's, who was at the incident, who disclosed that they had filmed the confrontation. The PCA states that the video shows the front bumper of the Honda colliding with Jade's legs, writing that, "Jade is thrown onto the hood of the Honda, and it appears that her left leg gets stuck in the front driver's side wheel well. It then appears that the Honda accelerates while turning and navigating around the adjacent light pole... It then appears that the wheel pulls Jade's body under the car and the rear driver's side tire runs over her. Jade is then seen motionless on the ground."Then, the affidavit says, detectives recovered a deleted audio recording on Huerta's phone where she is heard saying "My sister said like I deadass said I ran her over" and "Me and sister were a little nervous that she's like dead."Friends of Jade Ramirez, who also goes by Aliyah, attended a candlelight vigil Tuesday evening to lean on each other for support and share memories. Idaho News 6 was there as tensions escalated and a fight broke out.
