Meet “Hawkey,” the official mascot of Trenton’s newest professional team, the Trenton Ironhawks. The team, alongside its main sponsor, Capital Health, unveiled its newest member Wednesday ahead of its inaugural 2026 season in the ECHL, the Premier North American AA developmental hockey league. “Hawkey represents the strength, courage and determination that defines our hockey team,” President of the Ironhawks, Bob Ohrablo said. “With a fearless approach, Hawkey embodies the hard work, resilience, and pride that have long been associated with the state of New Jersey” The Ironhawks are an affiliate team of the NHL’s New York Islanders and the American Hockey League’s Hamilton Hammers. Hawkey and the Ironhawks are bringing professional hockey back to the South Jersey region for the first time in nearly 12 years. The Ironhawks and Hawkey will make their at-home debut on Saturday, October 24 at 6 p.m., playing against the New Jersey Devil’s affiliate, the Adirondack Thunder, at the CURE Insurance Arena.
