FAA may inspect some Boeing planes over passenger seats
Jul 28, 2026
(CNN)– The Federal Aviation Administration is proposing inspections of passenger seats on hundreds of Boeing jets.
Regulators say some seats on certain 7-37 max models may have been installed incorrectly.
The issue could pose a potential safety risk during an emergency landing or evacuation.
Th
e proposal would affect 453 U.S. registered jets.
That represents more than half of the nation’s 7-37 max fleet, according to aviation data firm, IBA.
The move comes as Boeing works to improve quality following production issues in recent years.
