Sushi Confidential is closing its downtown San Jose location in San Pedro Square despite a successful run during the FIFA World Cup. The restaurant’s owner told the Mercury News that the decision to close was made before the recent World Cup matches, which drew large crowds to San Pedro Square. The restaurant’s last day is scheduled for Aug. 30. According to the owner, the focus will shift to Sushi Confidential’s three other San Jose locations, as well as its restaurants in Campbell and Morgan Hill.
