This year Victor Wembanyama took a leap in his career. He earned the first ever unanimous Defensive Player of the Year voting and led the San Antonio Spurs into their first Finals appearance in a dozen years. With the spotlight comes the off-court offers, most notably endorsement deals. Wemby, kno wn for pushing aside Gatorade bottles from his press conference table, has gone on the record as to selecting endorsement products with health and image in mind. Because he doesn’t want to kill the kids.” Beyond concerns regarding health, Wembanyama’s selectivity on endorsements is as premeditated as his workout regiments, diet, and health monitoring. “The philosophy is, we don’t want him to be too distracted. We want him to stay focused, and this is why he did not sign too many deals,” Medjana continued. “If you sign too many deals, then you cannot stay focused on the main goal to be better, to get rest, to get treatment.” Wembanyama currently has deals with Nike, Louis Vuitton, 2K Sports, Fanatics, Authentic and H-E-B. “I think what Victor understands is not to be distracted by all of the fanfare around his career,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver told The Athletic. “Because he will be defined by championships, not by commercial opportunities or the platform he has to speak out on issues he cares about.” With the 2026-2027 season still three months away, Wemby has continued to focus on his game.
