Dangerous conditions persist at Bay Area beaches
Jul 27, 2026
Bay Area beachgoers should keep an extra close eye on the water to start the week due to hazardous conditions, officials warned.
A Beach Hazards Statement remains in effect through Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said tropical cyclones in the
Eastern Pacific Ocean are stirring up a long-period swell, sending breaking waves up to 10 feet and an increased risk of sneaker waves and strong rip currents to the Bay Area.
Beachgoers are instructed to stay out of the water and off jetties, piers, rocks, and other infrastructure near the water, the weather service said.
