One man is dead and another three have been hospitalized following a string of violent incidents across Philadelphia overnight, police said. According to police, the deadly incident happened at about 1 a.m., along the 4800 block of Sansom Street in West Philadelphia. At that time, officials s aid, officers responded to find a man suffering from several wounds to his head, chest, back and abdomen that were quickly determined to be stab wounds after no shells were discovered at the scene. However, police could not immediately say how this incident occured. The victim — who police did not immediately provide further identifying information on — was taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said, he was pronounced at about 1:11 a.m. Before this incident occurred, at about 11:40 p.m. on Sunday night, in the city’s Oxford Circle section, police said an 18-year-old man was injured after being stabbed in the face. In this incident, police said, officers responded to the 6700 block of Castor Avenue to find a teen after he had been stabbed several times in the face and neck by an unknown attacker. Officials said the teen was taken to the hospital where they were listed in stable condition. Here, officials said, two men — one 34-years-old and the other 30-years-old — were struck by gunfire when an unknown shooter fired, at least, 36 shots. Both men, police said, were hospitalized in stable condition, though police did not immediately provide further information about their injuries. As of about 6:15 a.m., no arrests had been made in any of these incidents and no details were provided for any attackers possibly involved. But, officials said, investigations into all three incident were ongoing. This is a breaking news story. It will be updated as new information becomes available. ...read more read less
