Letter: Phone company lacks local customer service

I went through a similar experience as a recent letter writer (“Hawaiian Telcom error leaves customer in lurch,” Star-Advertiser, July 22). After the April storm, I lost Hawaiian Telcom service and tried to get an amended bill, but it was an exercise in futility.
