The age-old debate between the Beatles and the Rolling Stones will take the stage this fall when tribute bands Abbey Road and Satisfaction – The International Rolling Stones Show bring “Beatles vs. Stones – A Musical Showdown” to the Rose State Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Nov. 21. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature a head-to-head musical battle between two of the most influential bands in rock history, recreating the sounds, styles and energy of the British Invasion legends. For more than six decades, fans have debated which band made the bigger impact — the Beatles with their groundbreaking pop songwriting or the Rolling Stones with their blues-inspired rock sound and rebellious image. The touring production brings that friendly rivalry to life with two tribute acts sharing the stage. Abbey Road, known as one of the country’s leading Beatles tribute bands, will perform hits spanning the Beatles’ career with authentic costumes, instruments and attention to detail. Facing off against them is Satisfaction – The International Rolling Stones Show, a tribute experience featuring the music and style of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and the rest of the Rolling Stones. “Music fans never had a chance to see the Beatles and the Rolling Stones perform on the same marquee,” said Chris LeGrand, who portrays Mick Jagger in the production. “Now, music aficionados can watch this debate play out live on stage.” The production has toured since 2011 and is part of a 125-show tour across the United States, Australia and Canada. The two-hour performance includes two sets from each band, quick set changes, playful banter and a finale featuring both groups together for an encore. Performers recreate the iconic looks of both bands with custom-made costumes inspired by memorable moments from their careers. “There’s no question that the Beatles set the standard,” said Chris Overall, who portrays Paul McCartney in the show.
