The National Weather Service issued a beach hazard statement for beaches across the San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast from Saturday through Wednesday afternoon.   The NSW says cyclones in the Eastern Pacific are pushing a long-period southerly swell toward the Pacific coastline. For that reason, they warned there will be an increased risk of sneaker waves and strong rip currents, with breaking waves of up to 10 feet at Bay Area beaches and the Central Coast from Saturday through Wednesday afternoon. The NWS warned people to stay off of jetties, piers, rocks and other waterside infrastructure, remain out of the water to avoid hazardous surf and never turn their backs to the ocean.
