SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WRTV) The Town of Speedway is gearing up for a milestone event as it prepares to celebrate its centennial with the Cheers to 100 Years festival, set for Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, from 5 to 11 p.m. on Main Street. Organized by the Speedway Centennial Celebration Committee, the event aims to honor the communitys rich history while launching a new tradition for future generations.Chris Meador, Speedway Centennial Planning Lead, says, Cheers to 100 Years is more than a celebration; its a chance for our community to come together and recognize the people and partnerships that have shaped Speedway over the last century.Plans for the evening include entertainment for all ages: games from 5 to 7 p.m., carousel rides until 10:50 p.m., and a live band from 6:30 to 11 p.m. Attendees can also enjoy performances by a yo-yo master, Fancy Pants Entertainment, a magician, and a variety of food trucks.The celebration will conclude with a fireworks display scheduled from 10:30 to 10:45 p.m., capping off an evening dedicated to Speedways past, present and future.Residents and visitors are encouraged to mark their calendars and invite family and friends to join the festivities.
